Sue Ann K is a portrait photographer based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. In her pursuit to explore the relationship of people to their physical environment, Sue Ann uses SH2. As she seeks to foster genuine emotional connections with others and share the beauty of life through her photography, she finds that SH2 helps to elevate the raw moments she captures with nostalgic and dreamy vibes.

Why did you choose SH2? 

SH2 works best with the bright and airy style that I aim to achieve. As a photographer, there are times when sudden and short inspiring moments appear that will require a fast response to shoot, having SH2 gives me peace of mind that my shot will be achieved with just a quick snap. 

How do you like to use the Creative Look Series to bring out a certain style/mood? 

SH2 is great when I am looking to portray my subject in a brighter and more positive atmosphere. The sense of vibrancy and softness works well in bringing out emotions such as hope, joy, curiosity, and peacefulness in my subjects. 

What is most appealing about the Creative Look Series to you as a photographer? 

The ‘completeness’ of the photo done on camera and without the need for post-processing has been the biggest pull for me when it comes to utilising the Creative Look Series. As a photographer, oftentimes it is always great to share some shots with my clients while the excitement is still unfolding. Hence, I could see how the Creative Look Series would come in handy, particularly when I am working in a tight time frame. 

Sue Ann’s advice to fellow photographers who want to try their hand at street and portrait photography with the SH2 preset, is to shoot in the daytime to allow its soft glow to really shine through. She finds that SH2 also works well in harsh lighting conditions as the balancing of light and shadow allows for better focus on the subject of her photo. Finally, to capture the true essence of the world around her, she immerses herself in every nook and cranny as she explores the streets – and suggests that you should too!
