What are some things to keep in mind when making reels?
Unlike your usual 1080p video, reels are shot vertically and usually run for a minute or less. I set my camera timer to 30 seconds to keep within the time limit. You should also take note of the areas of your reel hidden behind your caption. Always plan the scene before filming it to avoid having parts of your frame hidden away. I recommend shooting as many close-ups or B-rolls as possible, as these scenes may make for an unexpectedly good reel.
How do you create a reel that captures the eyes of your viewers?
I shoot from various angles or zoom in and out to capture my audience’s attention. When telling a visual story, it’s crucial to have a flow that connects scenes. Also, a well-selected thumbnail never fails to grab the attention of your viewers.
