One may hazard a guess that Jiggie’s preferred composition is when shots are underexposed artfully. In this photograph, he had taken advantage of the ambient light to capture an ethereal composition of the couple and nature’s spectacular beauty.

“You have to see beyond ambient light in order to see the magic hidden in a scene,” he shared. “I underexposed the scene to bring out the colors in the sky, popped a flash and used the Sony’s FE 70-200mm F4 G OSS in order to bring the background closer to the subjects.”

Other functions of the G lens that may have contributed to this stunning shot are its mid-range zoom for a bit more reach of the scenery, optimal corner-to-corner sharpness for vivid details and image stabilisation to minimise blur. The lens also touts a compact, lightweight design for seamless destination shoots. 
 

Poorly lit conditions? Jiggie is unfazed when he uses Sony’s 50mm F1.4 ZA prime lens that boasts a large aperture for low-light shooting. The photographer elaborated that the above shot was taken in a pitch-black venue. 

“I used the ambient light from the candles, which I capture by handholding Sony’s Alpha 7R III at 1/5 of a second, thanks to its in-body stabilization,” he reveled. I also put a flash behind the subjects.”
 

A moment of true love is sometimes best captured against a breath-taking scenery. Jiggie counts on Sony’s FE 16-35mm F4 ZA OSS lens to achieve such shots, thanks to its wide-angle zoom range with refined optics that secure all the fantastic details and colour. On top of the lens paired with Sony’s Alpha 7R III, the photographer also used an external flash to enhance the light that resulted in an appealing rim, separating the couple from the background. 
 

Jiggie shared that when it comes to wedding photography, he falls back on the FE 24-70mm F2.8 GM from Sony’s most advanced lens line. Fittingly so as the G Master lens offers a generous zoom range for Sony’s camera bodies, where imaging is taken to extremely high resolution with crisp details and textures in tact. With a creamy bokeh to boot, the above shot is a testament of the lens’ excellence. 

He elaborated: “The lens allowed me to get the proper composition even in such a tight place and at an aperture of F2.8, it achieves a nice out-of-focus front elements to make the couple stand out in an otherwise busy scene.”

For portraitures, Jiggie obliges to the FE 85mm F1.4 GM lens, also coined as the ultimate portrait prime from Sony’s most elite lens series. With a wide F1.4 aperture setting, the lens boasts unbeatable resolution and built-in tech such as ED glass elements that suppresses chromatic aberration and minimises artificial coloration. Its bokeh also immensely impressed Jiggie. 

“The beautiful bokeh this lens creates was the perfect compliment to the light I placed behind the subjects on camera left,” he said, referring to the above wedding shot taken outdoors. “This combination allowed me to use all the distracting elements as a frame for the couple.”
